Atlantic Avenue

In precious Pawley’s Island, SC sits a spacious coastal home whose new owners purchased to be a potential high-end rental property. This yellow three-story sits front beach just steps away from the pier, and although its bones were classic and high-quality, the previous owner had fitted it more as an equestrian bachelor pad than a beach house. Atypical to AMI style, Aston decided to start with a fresh coat of white paint throughout to give this home a fresh start and to reflect all of the sunlight flooding in from the numerous windows and doors. Aston’s goal was not only to stay away from any form of kitschy beach theme but also to avoid the predictable coastal white and light blue scheme that we are seeing throughout the south. The clients hired Aston to bring in her signature style with pops of color and fun pattern while maintaining a classic beach vibe. Aston also heavily considered function and durability while choosing selections to ensure that the home would stand the test of time with renters, youthful visitors, parties and furry friends. In the end, she used natural textures, green palms, coral and other subtle sea life accents, teals, pinks and blues, and loads for decorative lighting to update the space into an inviting, relaxing, sophisticated getaway.
